Meet the talented musical director of the drum corps... Stephen Creighton!
We have had many people asking for him next in our series and how could we pass up the opportunity to share his story with you?
Stephen, when did you join SLOT?
In 1999 as part of an amalgamation with St. Joseph's
And when did you start playing drums?
I've been playing since the age of 8, and worked my way to lead drummer at the age of 18 at St. Joseph's and then lead drummer at SLOT for the 1999 season until the present day, which brings it to my 27th year as a grade 1 lead drummer.
What has been your favourite medley to play in the band?
I don't have one. They are all my favourite! But the one that sticks out is the Garb medley from 2013!
And all our readers know you as Stephen, the leading drummer, but whats something they might not know about you?
I am head of marching and part of product development team at premier music international. I'm also a qualified cabinet maker, married to Amanda for 27 years with 4 children, Stephen Jr, Keith, Glen, and princess Hannah.
Finally, what attracted you to SLOT?
The music, but most importantly the opportunity to work with the one person who could execute it, Terry Tully.
