Amazing night with an enormous amount of talent on one stage!
A great nights entertainment in Aberdeen on Saturday night , SLOT put on a fantastic concert which was run by Bucksburn PB . Some great tunes and arrangements made the night fly in. The MC was Kevin Macdonald of the Red Hot chilli Pipers, who kept things moving along well. Some highlights were PM Alen Tully and PM Terry Tully playing together again.
Some pics and our opening set of 4/4 marches from the night are below.....
Thanks to the big rab show for recording the concert - you can check out his channel here
3rd February 2024
Bass drummer John Dunne has announced that he is retiring after nearly 40 years of dedicated service to St. Laurence O' Toole Pipe Band.
John marched into the circle for his first season with SLOT back in 1986 and has been the heart beat of the band ever since.
Giving so many years of service to anything shows extreme dedication and passion. We as a band are extremely grateful that those years were spent guiding and developing the band that we are so proud of today.
His unique style and feel for the music has been admired throughout the pipe band world for many years.
We will miss him among our ranks but wish John, his wife Veronica and his family the very best for the future.
His shoes won't be easy to fill but we are delighted to have found the right person. We look forward to introducing our new bass drummer very soon.
Go raibh mĂle maith agat John
