Originally from Dungannon in N. Ireland where he learned to play with the Howard Memorial Pipe Band.
Since moving to Scotland in 1991, he has played with Lothian and Borders Police Pipe Band, David Urquhart Travel Pipe Band, Fife Police Pipe Band, and previously played with St. Laurence O'Toole for three seasons from 2011.
He is also the full time Piping Instructor at Preston Lodge High School, which now have two bands competing in the Juvenile Grade and Novice Juvenile B Grade.
