Christopher is from the town of Swords in Co. Dublin, Ireland and started learning bagpipes at the age of 9 with his local band, Black Raven.
His tuition has come from many people, but primarily his Dad, Christy Russell and P/M Terry Tully, who helped him to reach his goal of getting to Grade One and joining one of the best band's in the World.
He first signed up with the Grade Three St. Laurence Toole Development Band and was part of that group when they won the All Ireland and British Championships in 2011.
He then worked his way up to joining the Grade 1 band in 2012.
He was part of the band that won the All Ireland Championships in 2014 and 2019, the Scottish Championships in 2015 and 2019, the European Championships in 2016 and the UK and British in 2019.
He also played at the band's sellout Turas Ceoil shows in both Glasgow and Armagh in 2018 and 2019.
He is really enjoying his time with the O'Toole's and hopes to continue to do so for many more years.
