Chris started his piping in 2001, aged 11, when his father brought him down to play with the local band, Arklow Pipe Band.
He played with Arklow until 2015 - the latter five years as Pipe Major - and from there, he joined the O'Toole's.
He has received tuition from ex-band member, Gerry Hanlon, and from Stephen Power, before his passing in 2015.
His musical influences come from traditional Irish music and he has used Terry Tully’s collection of books as a great source of inspiration throughout his piping career.
Growing up around the Irish pipe band scene, the O'Toole's always had a huge influence on him, with the tunes they played and the way they played them.
Outside of the band, he runs a car sales and service business and is married with two young boys - so piping is the only hobby he has any time for !
His ambitions with the band are to keep playing quality music and, like everyone else, to win it all.
